Collaboration with Kvadrat.

The exploration of the samples and off cuts from discontinued fabrics breathes new life into the soft

materiality of Kvadrat’s innovative textiles, turning them into objects of illumination, wonder and play.

Over six weeks, we studied the various properties of the textiles—from acoustics to hydrophobic effect—to find new functions that respond to what the materials wants to be.

The exploration of the samples that given out from Kvadrat and offcuts from discontinued fabrics breathes new life into the soft materiality of Kvadrat’s textiles and turning them into objects.

Which discontruct method was found into this fabric, the yarn was tugged on consistently and patiently to create an even texture that has a gradient effect. Which show the beauty of the fabric itself.

For just one night, these works were exhibited in the Kvadrat Singapore showroom where a panel of judges presented five awards to the best pieces in celebration of this collaboration between industry and design school.
